Think it. Write it. Speak it.
I remember a time when I thought some of my friends were slightly ‘woo woo’. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved their positivity and was in complete awe just being around them, constantly wondering how I could be more positive in my outlook. Their glass always half full and never half empty. Their advice always spot on and in abundance. However the conversations of manifesting your own happiness, and if you believe it, it will happen just wasn’t on my wave length. Again, not to say the wisdom and belief wasn’t always an interesting listen. If anything it was calming to listen to and comforting knowing that others believe in such a positive ‘force’. I just wasn’t there yet!
January 2020 hit (and boy did it HIT!) and I decided to read a book or two. I’ve always had the drive to create my own success, but never knew how. I have a 4 (then 3) year old, and a 5 year old, along with a husband whose job doesn’t provide flexibility. I work part time in HR, but wanted more, so much more. I wanted to provide a substantial income to the household, but keep the freedom that I needed for the little people.
I started the year off reading Carrie Green’s ‘She Means Business’, onto ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’ by Timothy Ferris, mid way through Marie Forleo’s ‘It’s all Figureoutable’ and not forgetting ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne (yes, I jumped on that band wagon!). I’m also obsessed with Jenna Kutcher’s ‘Goal Digger’ podcast, and the legend that is Tony Robbins. The positivity was OOZING out of me…. I became ‘woo woo’! my husband thought I was crazy, constantly trying to sell him new ideas and schemes for our future. That is when I thought ‘right, let’s go!’ and set up my Virtual Assistant business.
Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t always clear sailing. It takes effort to believe and manifest the things you want to happen, and let’s just say, the past 6 weeks has been a stumbling block, but it was exactly what I needed at the right exact time.
Marie Forleo’s quote “Words give life to your dreams. Think it. Write it. Speak it. Consistently” hits the nail on the head. Take it out of your head and put it on paper, it then becomes real. Talk about it like it’s already happening, or you’re already there. Write it down every. single. day. Like I said, it isn’t always easy to have a positive thought process. Sometimes you are so busy or having an off day where you literally can’t invest your time, but to put it on paper, forces you to simply read it and take that minute or so to be in that moment.
What are your success stories??
